Steel Mtn. frame - スティールフレーム（Mtn.）

We got some orders to make steel Mtn. frames. Usually, most people choose Ti as a material for Mtn. frame because it is strong and light weight. But sometimes, some people choose steel Mtn.s. It is actually heavier than Ti, but stiffer than Ti. Maybe, it doesn't matter about weigh for the people who choose steel frames. They will just like steel frames.

何台かまとまってスティールMtn. フレームのオーダーが入った。たいてい、ほとんどの人はチタンのフレームを選ぶ。なぜなら強度があり、軽量に作れるからである。しかしたまに、何人かの人がスティールを選ぶ。実際、チタンよりもヘビーであるがその分、剛性もある。スティールを選ぶ人にとっては、重量はさほど問題ではないのだろう。ただ鉄が好きだということなのかもしれない。

Mr. Roy's road frame - ロイさんのロードフレーム

Who are you!? When did you get in my camera?

Mr. Roy's road frame. Axiom SL. When I came to work this morning, this frame drawing with a red file was ready to be built. There was no machinist at the time, So I machined and welded it. A different point than usual Axiom SL is that this frame has a thinner top tube.

ロイさんのロードフレーム（ロイさんの奥さんはSeven のシクロクロスレーサーである。）今朝、来た時このフレームのドローイング（赤い（急ぎ）ファイルと共に）が用意されていた。マシー二ストがまだいなかったので自分がマシーニング、ウェルディングと一気に行った。いつものAxiom SL と異なる点はより厚さの薄いバテッド加工がされたトップチューブを使用している点である。

Third time does it. - 三度目の正直

I welded this frame and painted THREE TIMES!! Black and white combination is tough to be painted because the color contrast is too strong. The borderline is highly visible if there is even a small dot.
Anyway I painted this frame three times. I hope no more!..

自分がこのフレームをウェルディングし、そしてペイントを３回やり直した！！黒と白のコンビネイションはペイントしづらい。なぜならカラーコントラストが強すぎるからである。色の境界線がはっきり見て取れるので、たとえ小さなミスもよろしくない。とにかく３回も塗りなおす羽目になってしまった。もうこれ以上は誰が何と言おうといやである。

Cycling to Concord 2 - サイクリング to コンコード2

To Concord with my wife last Sunday. Nice weather! We saw many cyclists this day. Around Boston, there are some good spots to ride and we can go there easily. That's very good. In Japan, around Tokyo, there are also some good spots, but it's always too crowded on weekends and lots of cars...

妻といっしょに日曜日コンコードへ。素晴らしい天気だった。その日は沢山のサイクリストが走っていた。ボストン郊外にはサイクリングをするのに良いところが幾つかあるが、アクセスしやすいのがまた素晴らしい。日本では、東京近郊にも良いところはあるが、特に週末は人と車でごった返し、目的地に着くまでに既に疲れてしまうこともある。これは厄介な点である。

Surface plate (Flat table) - 定盤

Surface plate is one of the significant tools for frame builders. On the surface, it must be completely flat. I would say we cannot make any accurate things without a surface plate. Some measurment tools to measure correctly are put on the flat table, and a frame on it.
We check the alignment for many things on it. It must be kept in a good condition.

フレームビルダーにとって欠かせないツールの一つが定盤である。その表面は完全に平らでなければならない。この定盤なしでは正確なものが作れないといってよい。幾つかの正確に測定するためのツールがその上に置かれ、そしてフレームがのせられる。
定盤の上で、様々なもののアライメントがチェックされる。定盤は常に良い状態に保たれていなければならない重要なツールである。

Connection between D.O and stays - D.O とステーの接続

There are some ways of connection between D.O and stays. It is hard to design this spot because we have to consider both strength and appearance. More simple, better appearance with keeping strength...

D.O （ドロップアウト）とステーの接合の仕方には幾つか異なる方法があるが、そのデザインは実際結構困難である。なぜなら強度と見た目の良さの両方を考慮しなければならないからである。強度を保ちながらよりシンプルであればあるほど、ベタールックスであればあるほど良いだろう。

Carrier rack - キャリアラック

                                                This rack is for my wife's Ti bike. It's not so cool, though.

We make carrier rack, too. Stainless steel, or Ti. Front, or, and rear. You can request your design, or we design them.
Each one has each own style and purpose, but key is how cool and functionable after the rack is set on a bike.

Sevenではキャリアラックももちろん作ります。ステンレス、チタン。フロント用、リア用、あるいは両方とも。デザインのリクエストもできますし、Sevenでデザインもします。。。
一人一人それぞれのスタイルや目的があるが、キーは、そのラックをバイクにセットした時にいかにそれがクールで実用的であるかだと思う。
