Inch and metric -

I agree about many things in US, but there are some things I cannot agree. One of them is measurment unit "Inch". In the world, except US, we use metric because it is more organized unit and world unit. But Americans won't change their idea to adjust it to the world. I think Americans are just stuborn?
Inch is actually not a great unit and indeed, it is an old and like a local unit. Most products in the world are made based on metric. Converting from metric to inch is already not accurate work. (*Large manufacturers in US which make high quality, technology things employ metric.)  So I still don't like "inch".

  1. Yoshi, I agree that inch does not make much sense. Especially since the increments are in 1/8", so a tube is 1 3/8" not 1.375".

A mountain bike for a 6' person is 18" but his road frame is 58 cm. Very tricky.

  2. I hear you, Yoshi! Metric is a much better, and more logical system, but it seems that America is not willing to make the switch.

I personally use metric measurements whenever possible, but there are times when imperial measurements are unavoidable, unfortunately!
