Wing Chun system - 詠春拳（チャイニーズマーシャルアート）

A little about my private time. I go to China town after work three days a week to learn Chines martial arts.
It is Wing Chun. This Wing Chun system was invented by a woman three hundred years ago and is known for extremely quick strike and defense. The most famous master of Wing Chun is Ip man (1893-1972). (Ip man was the master of Bruce Lee. It was filmed 'Ip Man'.)
After Ip man, Wing Chun was known in many countries except Japan. Why not in Japan? It is because of the war history between Japan and China. So Ip man left a word "We must not teach Japanese Wing Chun." That is why there is no master of Wing Chun in Japan even today...
But!! I can learn it here in Boston. I am so exited about it. I am learning Wing Chun for my self-confidence and self- cultivation. In Chinese martial arts, the spirit is based on Confucian ethic that is benevolence, compassion, and so on. It is a pleasure to learn Wing Chun for me.

明日は7月4日、独立記念日でホリデーである。今日はプライベートな事を少し。
週に3回仕事の後、チャイニーズマーシャルアートを学ぶためにチャイナタウンに通っている。それは詠春拳と呼ばれているものである。この詠春拳は今からやく300年前に女性によって発明された拳法である。特徴としては極度のスピードで攻撃と防御を同時に行うことで知られている。最も有名な詠春拳のマスターに葉問（イプマン）（1893-1972）がいる 。（葉問はブルース・リーの師匠であった。（映画にもなっている）ブルース・リー自身のスタイルは詠春拳ではないが）
この葉問の後、詠春拳はたくさんの国で知られることとなるのだが、日本には伝わらなかった。何故か？それは中国と日本との間の戦争の歴史のためである。葉問は”日本人には決して教えてはならない”という言葉を残しそれが後世にそのまま伝わったというわけである。現在でも日本には詠春拳のマスターがいるかどうか分からないと言われている。
しかし！！ここボストンでそのオリジナルの詠春拳を学ぶことができる。So exciting!! である。
チャイニーズマーシャルアートはその精神に孔子の教え（博愛心、思いやり、共感など）をもとに成り立っている。自己確信のために、この詠春拳を学べることがこれまたひとつの喜びである。
