Essence of drawing

                                                                      

It is not hard to draw bicycle drawings. But, through a paper of drawing, you can see the designer's intent, thought, knowledge, skill, intelligibility about bikes and drawings, and so on. I have liked to see many architects' and designers' drawings since I used to work as an architect. It is very interesting and every information is in it. Sometimes I used to spent gazing over a drawing for most a day because it was so great drawing and it didn't make me bored... In a architecture drawing, there are a lot of thinking, desire, stories... Even in a drawing of a bike, I want to make it the same as the process of making a bike by hand.

バイクの図面をひくことはそんなに難しい事ではないが、しかし一枚の図面を通して、その設計者の意図や考え、知識、技術、バイクや図面に対する理解度などなど結構いろいろな事が分かる。
建築の仕事をしていたころから様々な建築家やデザイナーの図面を見ることが好きである。それは面白く、全ての情報が図面の中にある。中には一日中見ていても飽きないようなすばらしい図面もある。一枚の建築図面にはそのときの考えや思い、ストーリーなどがこめられていたりする。　それがたとえバイクの図面であったとしてもハンドメイドで作られるプロセスと同様、思いやストーリーをしっかりと詰め込みたい。
